Turn on the Heat with Jennifer Lopez

As if the weather isn’t hot enough, Jennifer Lopez set our screens on fire with her latest video release, which was shot in scenic Mexico. In the opening of the scene, Jennifer Lopez is seen relaxing at Tulum beach in a white bikini and a pair of lilac-coloured Gucci sunglasses.

The video is a juxtaposed of summer-ish island tempo set against the ancient backdrops of the Chichen Itza Mayan pyramid in a stunning display of fashion that is Jennifer Lopez’s signature style but with a fiercer, posher image. It certainly has more panache, coming a long way from her Love Don’t Cost a Thing days. Apart from the catchy tune, we are dedicating an entire post on this video because of the stunning styling. They are absolutely brilliant! Every bride needs a ‘Jennifer Lopez’ (no, not just because she was the wedding planner in The Wedding Planner) and these pictures are evident why.

Can there be too much of snakeskin? Obviously, with JLo, more equals glam, rocking the shift dress, turban, shoes, bangles and nails in the snakeskin print. This behind-the-scene photo is evident why every bride needs a Jennifer Lopez to get them motivated to hit the gym!

Oh, and did we mention she ‘s turning 42 in July?

Up next, we’ll be featuring fabulous finds from around, inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s style from her latest video so come back for more!

Save-the-Date: Epic Wedding Trailer

Sydney-based couple, Jeff and Erin wanted to produce the most over-the-top action movie trailer parody they could think of as their Save-the-Date video to replace the conventional cards. What started off as a small project, soon developed into one of the most talked about viral Save-the-Date videos on YouTube. Except for the professional voice over, everything about the video was a home production using a Canon 5D Mark II, and edited on Premiere and After Effects on a regular PC. A template for that was created in Blender by some cool guy on the internet called Blazer003, and the couple just DIY by reading his tutorial.

In a world ruled by social conventions…
In a time when height meant everything…
One couple…
Stood apart from all the rest …

Enjoy the video and be inspired!

Wedding Proposal: Action Trailer at the Movie Theatre

Need ideas for your wedding proposal? Check out this cool video of a very romantic guy, who is very much in love with his girl. He made a very cool action trailer to be played at the movie theatre where he was going to ask his girlfriend to marry him.

By far the best proposal effort we’ve seen to-date. What do you think?

Rockin’ Royals by T-Mobile

This is what happens when  JK  and entourage meet the Royals. You get a super wicked Royal procession!

When we first saw this on CNN, we knew we had to spread some royal fun amidst the intensity and pressure leading up to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Thanks to T-Mobile who made a spoof video by poking fun at all the pomp and hype surrounding the royal wedding. Nicely done and we absolutely love Prince Harry look-a-like as he gets jiggy with the bridesmaids.

Songs for Japan

As Japan recovers from the devastating earthquake and tsunami with the continuous search and rescue efforts amidst on-going nuclear power plant crisis, we’d like to take some time to encourage you to lend a helping hand by donating to ShelterBox or iTunes’ Songs for Japan album.

On March 25, 2011, in what stands as a major global music relief effort to benefit those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, over 30 of the biggest names in contemporary music have joined together for the worldwide release of Songs for Japan, an unprecedented compilation of 38 chart-topping hits and classic tracks, available on the iTunes Store for US$9.99. Proceeds from the album’s sale will benefit the disaster relief efforts of the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS). The society will use the funds for the ongoing provision of immediate relief and for eventual recovery support to the affected population. The artists participating on Songs for Japan, the music labels and music publishers have waived their royalties and proceeds from the worldwide sales of the album to ensure that the JRCS receives as much support as possible from this global initiative.  iTunes will also donate its proceeds from the album’s worldwide sales to the benefit of the JRCS, and has prominently featured the project throughout its stores worldwide.

At the same time, we’d like to thank those who have helped support For Japan with Love. The initiative by Utterly Engaged and Ever-Ours, with the support of the wedding blogging community have raised more than USD$59,000 to ShelterBox.

Here’s a thank you message directly from Lucia Dinh Pador, the Editor of Utterly Engaged.

Dear Natasha,

Our heartfelt thanks for reaching out to us to be a part of “For Japan With Love”. I wanted to write to you personally and thank you for caring so much. The response “For Japan With Love” has been overwhelmingly amazing! We could not have asked for more.  We, at Utterly Engaged, truly appreciate all the support and love.  Thank you ever so much for being a part of the Bloggers Day of Silence. Because of the Day of Silence we were able to to raise $50,000 to have 50 ShelterBoxes help 500 people in Japan and other disaster areas. And you played a huge part in making this happen!!!

This project doesn’t end here, we have until March 31st to raise more funds. We will be launching one more last campaign to raise awareness that we would love your help in. Is it ok if I contact you for it? Please keep on spreading the word about “For Japan With Love”. Every little helps and we need to keep people aware of all the help that Japan needs.  Sending you massive amount of hugs!

So, do click on the For Japan with Love badge located on the side bar of our blog and lend your support to Japan, or purchase the Songs for Japan album from iTunes.

WedInk Tattle Loves: Kina Grannis

If you have not heard of Kina Grannis, then it’s time you get to know her and her music. We love her infectious personality on YouTube and her blog is sincere and real. Her videos are so chilled out and totally down-to-earth. Her voice is soothingly beautiful and her self-composed songs are just brilliant. She goes out of her way to connect with her fans by inviting her subscribers to co-write a song with her on YouTube. She’s half Japanese with English, Irish, Welsh, French and Scottish descent….in short, she’s gorgeous!!

Everlasting Love (Part 2)

Everlasting Love is a continuation from the previous post. The title ‘Everlasting Love’ is a tribute to U2 for their version of the song but don’t expect this playlist to be a collection of mushy amorousity.  This music mix contains some of Britain’s finest, specially put together for the convenience of planning your wedding playlist.  Enjoy!

Dance Music

Dis for Dance Music, the heart and soul of every successful wedding.  Tears of laughter. Tears of joy. Candid moments of embarrassment, love, fun and excitement are often shared during this dubious segment of dance in your big scale of things (checklist crossed). Living in this part of the world, we are privileged to have the opportunities to experience, explore, listen and enjoy the myriads of talented artistes in and around Asia. As a wedding planner, planning the songlist is by far the most exciting part of planning a wedding and over the years, I’ve compiled a thorough list of songs (and the list is perpetually growing!). It will be impossible to feature all the dance music in this post so I’ve narrowed down to suitable songs for just the First Dance and Last Dance. Music is very subjective and these songs may not necessarily be your kind of music but they serve as a guide to help you narrow down your choices. It’s more important to decide on songs that have been influential during your courtship days or songs that hold a special significance to the both of you.
