Intimate Wedding in Bali

I ntimately beautiful, laid back, casual and relaxed. There’s something effortlessly cool about this wedding. That’s right … This is the wedding of Zach and Amelyn of ZA Gallery. One of the most lovable couples within the Malaysian wedding industry circle!

Held at the scenic Bulan Putih Villa in Uluwatu, Zach and Amelyn chose that location because it enabled them to house everyone under one roof with a to-die-for view that overlooks the Indian Ocean. They enlisted the services of Bali VIP to assist them with the planning and coordination.

Zach: The highlight of the wedding was definitely the first meet. I have actually never seen her in her bridal gown until just before the ceremony, where we had already planned to have a first meet. It was memorable to me as it was my first time looking at my lovely wife in her bridal gown. We first met at a tuition class during secondary school in Ipoh. After secondary school, we went different ways, leading different lives. In year 2000, we bumped into each other in a night market in section 17 PJ and kept in contact ever since then but it was only in 2009 that we decided to be together. We know that somehow destiny has brought us together and a sign from HIM showed us that “Together, nothing is impossible”. On 22nd May 2009, I proposed to her with the help of my friends at the airport terminal. She has been and always will be the only one for me.

As I’m writing this post, I realised I probably have not exchanged more than 100 words with Zach, eventhough we’re both in the same industry. Moreover … he’s my neighbour (shame on me). I always knew him as a gifted, humble and soft-spoken guy but I didn’t know he’s such a romantic!

THAT proposal was sooo sweet and adorable you just HAVE to read about it here!

Jon Low of Jon Low Studios, Kenneth Tan of Fabulous Chapter and Mun Keat of Mun Keat Photography were the official photographers of the day, but it is Jon Low who was assigned with the double duty of giving a speech. Here’s his take on the wedding.

From the photographer, Jon Low: You know it was going to be a special and cosy wedding when the guest list consisted of not more than 30 people. You know it was going to be a special wedding because some of the best Malaysian wedding photographers were gathered together to cheer on our dear old ‘uncle’  for his big day! I know it was going to be special one because these people whom I shot – the guests and the wedding couple are all very special people.

We grew together as photographers, as a person, and between us, we are good friends. I recall that I wasn’t quite myself on the wedding day. I was actually nervous shooting our dear friend’s wedding. It’s all good now, I brought some insurance during my speech (yes, I gave a speech.… a long one). I said that “Amelyn and Zach, on a beautiful wedding day like this, nothing else matters but both of them” … and they agreed. So, I said too, if I screw up the photographs, remember you said, nothing else matters!

I really want the album that I put together for them to have more personal touch, so with the little poetic skills that I have, my thoughts are all written to rhyme and I hope I fair not too badly. I’ll share it with you guys..

Love isn’t an act
Nor a dead cat
Love is full of laughter
And that’s a fact

Zach & Amelyn, Amelyn & Zach
She leads with the letter ‘A’
He take cares of her back

Wishing you both together forever after
With joy and happiness that makes life better
Nothing stronger with one another
Nothing done with none or other

Just a token from this Ah Jon
To keep your marriage going strong
You, her and I, are a new bond
A magnificent friendship is born.

Aww… that is such a sweet gesture. Photographers are sentimental people yea *wink*. While we at WedInk Tattle are head over heels over his efforts as a poet, we’d like to advise him to keep his day job as a wedding photographer because he so totally rawks at it! Just look at these stunning photos!

Whimsical Elegance – Ben & Clarine

‘Tis the season of holly, jolly fun and since we’re very much in the holiday spirit, we’d like to entice you with a little fun and whimsy from one of Malaysia’s finest. Planned by Nupts & Such and designed by La Flaire, these creative planners transformed the classic ballroom of Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur into a fantasy wonderland by combining the whimsical peculiarity of Alice in Wonderland with the stunning effects of sci-fi movie, Avatar. It’s certainly not easy to combine two themes (especially two … very dramatic themes which are far apart in style and creative direction) into one wedding within clients’ budget, and to do it with such flair and elegance, is really magical. They even had a little ‘play’ area for kids. How cool is that!

From the Designer: Granted that the couple were fans of the movies, we set about creating something that would depict the movie themes, yet – has all the significant romantic notions of a wedding. Voila! The couture decor turned out to be a stunning fusion of romantic elegance and a little whimsical, and a little sci-fi.

For the Alice In Wonderland theme – it was only outside the ballroom, catered for the Pre-Dinner Cocktail. We had paraphernalia similar to those from the movie and we also had a full candy-bar reception with all the colourful treats and snacks!

For Avatar, it was for the dinner reception in the ballroom and we had the table centrepieces reflecting the movie as well as the backdrop and the whole mood and ambience right down to the lightings. We needed to re-create the movies into real life here and we were careful of ensuring that we brought out the movie themes at one glance.

Words of Advice from the Planner: This is a once-in-a-lifetime affair for you and as such – do something that will make you the most happy! If it is flowers you do not want, then just don’t get flowers even though people might look at you horrified! Remember, this is your wedding and you can personalize it as much as you wish.
